Southampton reportedly launched a last-ditch bid to sign Austrian defender Kevin Danso before the transfer window closed on Thursday evening.
The Augsburg defender, 20, was subject to late bid from the Saints with a deal sheet handed to the Premier League before the transfer deadline, according to the Telegraph.
Danso, who spent part of his youth in Milton Keynes after moving to the UK at the age of six, joined the Bundesliga club after spending time in the youth academy at MK Dons.

As a result, he was eligible to play for England, however he has represented Austria at youth level and made his debut for the national side in 2017.
Southampton had previously enjoyed a quiet deadline day on Thursday, with only one major outgoing in Charlie Austin.
The former Queens Park Rangers’ forward has joined Championship side West Brom on a two-year deal for £4m.
The Saints have also confirmed that midfielder Harrison Reed has left for Fulham on a season-long loan.
