Bayern Munich have enquired about the possibility of signing Philippe Coutinho from fellow European giants Barcelona.
Bayern are looking to bolster their midfield options ahead of the new season and are ramping up their search before the transfer window closes on August 25 in Germany.
According to Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo, the Bundesliga giants have asked Barcelona about making a move for Coutinho, who has fallen down the pecking order at the Nou Camp.

The Brazilian midfielder’s long-term future at Barcelona has been in doubt for some time after his struggles to settle on the pitch following his move from Liverpool in a £145million move last January.
He was heavily linked with the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham in a loan move this summer but these failed to materialise.
However, Coutinho, who has now dropped below Antoine Griezmann in the pecking order after his arrival from Atletico Madrid, might be offered a way out by Bayern.
