Manchester United send scouts to watch Moussa Dembele AGAIN on Sunday night… and they could force through a cut-price deal as Sylvinho benches him as part of rotation policy

  • Manchester United want new attacking options in the January transfer window
  • And they have been keeping track of Moussa Dembele throughout the season
  • He was left on the bench on Sunday night as Lyon faced Saint-Etienne
  • United sent scouts to watch him and saw him hit Lyon’s only shot on target

Manchester United sent scouts to watch Moussa Dembele on Sunday night — and they could be handed a boost after he was benched again.

They dispatched staff to take in Lyon’s game against Saint-Etienne and saw the former Celtic man left out of the starting line-up by under pressure manager Sylvinho, who has frequently rotated his forward line this season.

Dembele did come on in the second-half and managed to hit Lyon’s only shot on target of the game.

There’s a risk for Lyon that United will push for a cut-price deal in January due to Dembele dipping in and out of the side.

This despite the 23-year-old being just one goal behind Ligue 1’s current top scorer Victor Osimhen.

Sportsmail has previously reported on United’s interest in Dembele, who they view as a possible solution to their striking problem.

They have kept track of him all season as the six-goal striker has impressed for Lyon.

United have struggled for goals all campaign, scoring more than one in just one match — the 4-0 win against Chelsea on the opening day of the campaign.

On Sunday, they were humbled by Newcastle as they lost 1-0 against Steve Bruce’s side at St. James’ Park.

They need attacking additions in January after allowing Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez to leave in the summer window.
