- Manchester United are reportedly set to launch a huge bid for Declan Rice
- United were linked with a move for Rice in the summer but didn’t make a bid
- Rice has established himself as one of West Ham’s most consistent performers
Manchester United could make a £70 million move for England and West Ham midfielder Declan Rice in the January transfer window, according to reports.
Rice has emerged a one of England’s hottest young prospects following his breakthrough season for club and country last season.
His stock has continued to rise this term, and United are now ready to launch a January move for the 21-year-old, according to the Daily Mirror.

Rice impressed during West Ham’s 2-0 win over United at the London Stadium in September
However, Rice has insisted he remains committed to West Ham and is keen to honour the five-year contract he signed at the club last season.
‘I signed a five-year contract with West Ham last year, which will keep me at club till I’m 24, and for me this is the best place to be right now.
‘I am playing for a manager who has given me my chance and played me week in week out.
‘I’m improving every week and although I see all this speculation, I don’t really think about it too much.
‘It’s all talk until something happens – and nothing has – so I’m just focused on West Ham, doing my best and making fans happy.’
Rice can operate at centre back and in midfield which would give United multiple options
It could be a busy January transfer window with United, who have also reportedly agreed a verbal agreement with Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic.
United made a move for the 33-year-old late in the summer transfer window and look set to land their key target at the second attempt in January.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to bolster his squad after a poor start to the season which has left the club 12th in the Premier League table.
