Matic made the switch from Chelsea to Manchester United for £40million in the summer of 2017.
He has made 92 appearances for the Red Devils, in which he has scored three goals and provided the same number of assists.
Matic has only featured in five matches this season as Solskjaer has opted for youth in his side.
The midfielder’s current contract at United runs out in the summer, although there is a clause in the deal which could extend it by one more year.
Matic has been linked with a switch to Inter Milan in recent weeks, which would see him reunited with manager Antonio Conte.
