Manchester United face a fight with neighbours City for the services of Inter Milan defender Lorenzo Pirola after sending scouts to watch him in action.
According to FC Inter News, representatives from both clubs have attended group stage games at the Under 17 World Cup in order to keep tabs on Pirola.
The 17-year-old has impressed so far, helping his country reach the knockout stage with wins over Mexico and the Soloman Islands. He also scored in their 2-1 defeat by Paraguay on Sunday.

The report claims that the Red Devils have been eyeing Pirola for longer and had a scout in place against Mexico, while City watched him last weekend.
Pirola is yet to make his first-team debut for Antonio Conte’s side, but is highly-rated at the San Siro after coming through their academy.
The young central defender was named in the team of the tournament at the Under 17 European Championship and Inter will not be willing to let him go without a fight.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has put an emphasis on youth since arriving at the club, bringing in the likes of Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka last summer.
Pirola would fit the bill in terms of age and potential, but it remains to be seen if United will firm up their interest with an official bid.
City, meanwhile, continue to scour the planet for the best young talent as they look to build on Pep Guardiola’s success of the last two seasons.
