Turkey international Calhanoglu is a regular starter for Milan but they’re struggling for form
Calhanoglu has started 18 Serie A matches for Milan in what has been a largely disappointing campaign.
They sit eighth in the Serie A table, some 10 points off the Champions League places, though they did win 2-0 at Cagliari on Saturday.
Calhanoglu, who has 47 caps and 10 goals for Turkey, joined Milan from German club Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2017.
He will be keen to find form in the second half of the season, whether in Milan or London, to win a place in the Turkey squad after they made it to Euro 2020.
Arsenal drew 1-1 with Crystal Palace on Saturday as Arteta tries to get the best out of the team he took over last month.
