- But Inter Milan have no intention of parting with the 20-year-old centre back
Barcelona and Manchester City both reportedly saw offers for highly-rated Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni snubbed.
The 20-year-old centre back has impressed for the Serie A title chasers this season, and it is believed that Inter are desperate to keep hold of the talent despite interest from some of Europe’s elite clubs.
City were even willing to propose a swap deal involving Joao Cancelo, but Inter rejected the ambitious switch, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Cancelo had featured for the club during the 2017/18 campaign, on loan from Valencia, and has been unable to oust first choice right back Kyle Walker since arriving in the summer.
Inter prodigy Bastoni progressed through the Atalanta youth academy, and has even succeeded in moving ahead of veteran Diego Godin in the club’s pecking order.
His stellar showings under Antonio Conte have unsurprisingly caught the eye of several interested parties.
City were reportedly willing to allow Joao Cancelo to leave in a potential swap deal for Bastoni
But Antonio Conte believes that Bastoni can establish himself long-term in Inter’s defence
Mundo Deportivo believe that Barcelona’s offer was recently turned down outright as well, with the Nou Camp outfit losing Jean-Clair Todibo to Schalke on a short-term loan and eager for a replacement.
Samuel Umtiti’s form has also been heavily questioned, with new boss Quique Setien currently able to choose between three first-team centre halves.
Bastoni has made ten league appearances this season, and spent the last two campaigns on loan with Atalanta and Parma respectively.
And reports in Italy indicate that Inter are eager to allow the youngster to secure a long-term spot at the heart of their defence.
