Cristiano Ronaldo’s once shattered relationship with Florentino Perez ‘has been repaired’ and Real Madrid president’s visit to the Juventus training ground this week ‘confirmed tensions have eased’ after 2018 fallout

Cristiano Ronaldo’s once broken relationship with Florentino Perez has been repaired with the Juventus star and Real Madrid president now on good terms.

Tensions between the pair were at an all-time high at the time of Ronaldo’s exit from the Bernabeu back in 2018 but a training ground visit from Perez in Turin on Tuesday was the strongest sign yet that those issues are in the past.

Ronaldo and Perez were previously not on speaking terms and the Portuguese, who won four Champions Leagues and two LaLiga titles in the Spanish capital, left under a cloud.

But the duo started to make amends when Ronaldo attended a Clasico clash last year.

And Marca claim that a trip to Juventus’ training ground this week was another sign of improved terms with Ronaldo also reportedly in regular contact with his former club president over the phone.

It marks a stark contrast from 2018 when after leaving for £88million, Ronaldo even went as far as to criticise Perez in public.

He said: ‘I felt it inside the club, especially from the president, that they no longer considered me the same way that they did in the start.

‘In the first four or five years there I had the feeling of being ‘Cristiano Ronaldo’.

‘The president looked at me through eyes that didn’t want to say the same thing, as if I was no longer indispensable to them, if you know what I mean.

‘That’s what made me think about leaving. Sometimes I’d look at the news, where they were saying I was asking to leave.

‘There was a bit of that but the truth is I always had the impression the president would not hold me back.’

Marca report that Perez understands that Ronaldo was irreplaceable at Real and the player recalls his time at the club with great fondness.

He scored 450 goals in 438 games, an astonishing record that also led to him winning four Ballon d’Ors during his time with the Spanish giants.
