PSG ‘join Manchester City in the race to sign Romelu Lukaku this summer’, with Mauricio Pochettino targeting Inter Milan star to create dream front-three with Kylian Mbappe and Neymar

Manchester City will reportedly face competition from Paris Saint-Germain in their bid to sign Romelu Lukaku.

City are looking to revamp their forward line with talisman Sergio Aguero set to leave this summer after 10 years at the Etihad Stadium, and Inter Milan’s prolific striker Lukaku has emerged as a genuine target.

The Belgian striker has been in sensational form since leaving City’s rivals United to join Inter in 2019, and has returned a remarkable 54 goals in 78 games for the Serie A club.

That form has drawn serious interest from Pep Guardiola but Calciomercato have claimed that PSG have joined City in the race for his signature.

PSG are too on the hunt for a new forward after trailing Erling Haaland last year and appear to be the frontrunners to sign Lionel Messi, who is out of contract at Barcelona in the summer and is also on City’s radar.

Despite being committed to bring Messi to Paris, the French champions are also considering a summer move for Lukaku as they look to create a dream attacking force alongside Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

Aguero, meanwhile, has been attracting interest from Barcelona, who believe his signing could aid their chances of retaining his compatriot and their star player Messi.

The City striker will also be available on a free in the summer and can speak with European clubs over a move now.

City have already made provisions to replace Aguero with Lukaku, Messi and Haaland all high on their shortlist.

Despite Aguero missing much of the season through injury, City have coped amazingly well in his absence with Guardiola’s men now having a commanding five-point lead at the top of the Premier League table after Sunday’s 4-1 victory at Liverpool.
