Thomas Muller has revealed that he is open to following former team mate Thiago Alcantara out of Allianz Arena, after claiming he is ‘not fixed’ to Bayern Munich.

The 31-year-old started his professional career at Bayern in 2008 and has gone on to  achieve great success with the Bundesliga giants, both domestically and in the Champions League.

Muller is still a key member of Bayern’s squad but has refused to rule out a transfer in the near future, and referenced Thiago’s move to Liverpool last summer as proof that no player is unconditionally bound to one club.

‘I’m not fixed to this club,’ the Bayern forward told The Times. ‘I have a special relationship,

‘I loved Bayern before I started playing for them, but when there is a situation where you have to decide maybe to play for a different club it would be no shame and no problem at all.

‘Maybe like with Thiago [Alcantara, now at Liverpool].’

A host of elite European teams have been linked with the Germany international in the past including Manchester United, Real Madrid and Liverpool. And his comments on potentially leaving the Allianz Arena could see clubs move for him this summer.

Muller has made 571 appearances for Bayern across all competitions, scoring an impressive 212 goals and notching 210 assists.

The attacking midfielder has won a staggering 27 major trophies including nine Bundesliga titles and two Champions Leagues.

The 31-year-old’s contract with the German giants is not due to expire until 2023, however Bayern are reportedly planning to bid for Borussia Dortmund’s star striker Erling Halaand.

Halaand’s potential arrival could see Muller fall down the pecking order at the Allianz Arena, but the German champions are likely to face competition for the Norwegian’s signature from Real Madrid, Manchester United, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain.
