Cardiff City and Sheffield United are among the clubs who are keeping an eye on Rotherham United midfielder Will Vaulks.

Scouts from both Cardiff and Sheffield, plus a side in Italy’s Serie A, will attend Rotherham’s game with Wigan Athletic on Saturday to watch the 25-year-old in action.

Vaulks has been a stand-out performer over the past two seasons for the Championship side.

The midfielder played a pivotal role in their promotion from League One last season when he was player of the year. 

He has one year left on contract at the end of this season and is expected to seek a fresh challenge.

Despite Vaulks’ performances this season, Rotherham find themselves in a relegation dogfight at the bottom of the Championship. They are currently in 21st position, just on point above the bottom three.
