A week after the first Drenthe league event ever follows the first home game, against AZ, on August 19. Before that happens, something has to happen in Emmen. After 20 May, the club immediately started to do all kinds of jobs, but as quickly as the club wanted, it did not always work. It is a race against the clock before the stadium is finished.
Emmen director Beekman: "There are a number of activities that are finished around the age of 17. If you talk about turnstiles, sound equipment or cameras, that will all be a bit in the last week."
By order of the KNVB, all licensing requirements will be met on 1 September, the director estimates, but that does not stop there. "Then we have some wishes to change accessibility and a number of things, we are going to do that in the autumn, but we can play the game on August 19th."
