Michal Kwiatkowski from Team Sky has won the 75th edition of the Tour of Poland. He stayed in the stage race in his own country the Briton Simon Yates, who won the final stage, eventually fifteen seconds ahead.
Kwiatkowski had a comfortable margin on Dylan Teuns (BMC), the Belgian winner of 2017, ahead of the last job with 0.16 lead, but with seventeen men within one minute there were significantly more hijackers on the coast.
In the seventh and final stage six tough climbs were on the program. Just before the top of the last climb, it was not Teuns who attacked, but Yates.
Strong closing kilometer
That stood at 0.39 and the final victory was with 0.10 bonification at a win and a lead of 0.35 to five kilometers from the meet. Thanks to a strong closing kilometer, it was the Pool that laughed last.
The Frenchman Thibaut Pinot finished in 0.12 seconds in the final stage and finished in third place with 0.20 behind the winner in the final classification.
