Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti gave a blunt response when asked whether his side will reignite their interest in Kylian Mbappe.

Reports emerged on Tuesday that the Paris Saint-Germain superstar wants to leave the club – just five months after he snubbed Real Madrid by signing a new contract at the Parc des Princes.

It’s said that Mbappe is at breaking point and feels like he has been betrayed by the French giants.

Following Madrid’s 1-1 draw with Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League, Ancelotti was quizzed over whether Madrid will go back in the market for the player who has long been a target for the Spanish giants.

The Italian fired back to Canal+ : ‘ You have the courage to ask that? I don’t have to answer.’

Tuesday’s bombshell report claimed that Mbappe told PSG he wanted to leave in July.

It suggested that the Ligue 1 champions had promised him a big transfer window including signing the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Bernardo Silva and Milan Skriniar to help them finally win the Champions League.

Mbappe has cut an unhappy figure in France in the early part of the new season, in which he appears to have fallen out with Neymar and has felt frustrated with manager Christopher Galtier’s attacking system.

The forward has has publicly explained that he prefers playing in a two-man system alongside a pivot, like he does with Olivier Giroud in the national team.

After a goalless draw with Reims last week, Mbappe posted an Instagram story that included a picture of himself in action accompanied by ‘#pivotgang’ in a dig at the way in which Galtier had used him.

The report from Spanish publication Marca, claims that the French side won’t allow Mbappe to join Real Madrid – who previously bid £154m for the 23-year-old in the summer before he snubbed the Spanish giants.

PSG have reportedly agreed to work on Mbappe’s exit provided it met certain conditions, including that a move to the Bernabeu be taken off the table, while it’s said that Liverpool are one of the player’s only plausible options.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has expressed interest in Mbappe, considered one of the best players in the world, in the past but the finances involved could be a stumbling block to any deal with the Reds.

He has been consistently linked with Klopp’s side in recent years, with the Frenchman reportedly keen to test himself in the Premier League.

Mbappe’s decision to sign a new deal worth £650,000-a-week with PSG surprised many, after it was widely expected he would join Real Madrid.

Though the Spanish champions were unhappy by Mbappe’s decision, club president Florentino Perez didn’t close the door on a future move for the 2018 World Cup winner.

He also claimed that the decision was influenced by French president Emmanuel Macron, who is said to have called Mbappe asking him to stay in Ligue 1.

He told El Chiringuito as per L’Equipe: ‘Mbappe had a dream. We tried to sign him last summer. We had to wait a year. He continued to want to come and then 15 days before, everything changed because of political pressure and for economic reasons.

‘I didn’t see the same Kylian that we wanted. I can’t imagine the King of Spain calling a player. That influenced him a lot.

‘The Mbappe that doesn’t want to participate in sponsorship operations isn’t the Mbappe I want. No player is above the club. Personally, I believed in the Mbappe that had a dream.

Despite criticising the French international’s decision, Perez stated: ‘I have never said that it was finished forever between Kylian Mbappé and Real Madrid. A lot of things can change in three years.’

The reports about Mbappe wanting to leave the club were denied by PSG chief Luis Campos before their 1-1 draw with Benfica on Tuesday night.

He told Canal Plus: ‘Mbappe has never told me about his intention to leave in January. We speak with him, Messi, Ney… we’re very happy to be here.

‘We have to be very clear that this isn’t a declaration – it is news that has come out a few hours before a very important match against Benfica.’
