Chelsea and Liverpool have ‘both shown interest in Moises Caicedo’ after his impressive performances with Ecuador at the World Cup.

At just 21, Caicedo has already racked up 28 appearances for his country and was part of an exciting side that was unlucky not to come through a tricky group in Qatar.

The midfielder joined Brighton in 2021 for £5 million and has played every league game for the Seagulls this season in an impressive run that has left them seventh.

According to reports in Sky Sports, Caicedo’s recent performances have turned heads at both Liverpool and Chelsea, although formal talks are yet to take place.

They also claim that Brighton have ‘no intention’ of losing the Ecuador star in January.

He has another three years remaining on his contract, meaning the club are unlikely to feel pressured into shipping the midfielder off any time soon.

Despite losing their manager Graham Potter in September, Brighton have continued to look an exciting team under new boss Roberto De Zerbi.

They have picked up some eye-catching results, including a 4-1 victory over Potter’s Chelsea side.

Caicedo has been an important presence in the side, and losing him could cause the Seagulls to falter after their promising start to the season.
