David Warner gives Cameron Green an ominous warning – and a new nickname – after the all-rounder’s record-breaking $3MILLION Indian Premier League payday

David Warner reckons Cameron Green has a new nickname – ‘Money Bags’.
Predictably, Green’s record IPL contract prompted a merciless reaction from his Australian Test teammate.
‘I think he took an RDO today on our main session,’ Warner deadpanned on Friday at the MCG ahead of the Boxing Day Test.
But Warner said there are serious implications for Green after he became the most expensive Australian player in the history of the lucrative Indian Premier League.
The 23-year-old allrounder was sold to the Mumbai Indians for a staggering $3.15 million, surpassing the figure payed by the Kolkata Knight Riders for Pat Cummins in 2020.

‘There is going to be a lot of pressure, a lot of expectation,’ Warner said.
‘That’s the nature of the beast when it comes to the IPL, when you see that kind of money thrown around.
Warner noted next year’s IPL will be played amid a busy Australian team schedule featuring the tough Indian Test tour, an away Ashes series and a World Cup.
‘You’re going to have a long time away from home as a young kid,’ he said.
‘How he deals with that himself – he has great support, I’m sure, with his management and family.

‘That’s going to be his biggest hurdle. It’s not about going out there and performing, he’ll do that, that’s inevitable.
‘There’s a lot of cricket to be played – so good luck to all of us.’
Warner also said Green would one day have to choose between the three forms of the game, just as English captain Ben Stokes has given up one-dayers.
‘He’s going to have a big decision on his hands in a couple of years’ time with his body,’ Warner said.
The Aussie opening batter recently opened up on the toll of being away from his family for long periods.
He explained that his one-year ban from top-flight cricket over 2018’s Sandpapergate ball-tampering scandal was actually enjoyable because he finally got to spend some time with wife Candice and their daughters.
