Spurs are looking to add to their squad next month, as Antonio Conte looks to keep up their top four chase and compete in the knockout stages of the Champions League.

A centre-back is thought to be on the Italian’s wish list and has previously been linked with Inter Milan stars Alessandro Bastoni and Milan Skriniar, but now has turned his attention to Frenchman Kalulu, according to Calciomercato.

Newcastle are also keen on the defender and have been monitoring the situation, while Kalulu has also attracted attention from Real Madrid. However, Spurs are leading the race for his signature.

Milan are open to selling the defender and value him at around £44million, Spurs could also offer Japhet Tanganga as part of a deal, who the Italians would be interested in adding to their squad.

Tanganga is out of favour in north London and has only made one appearance for Spurs so far this season.

Kalulu has played 15 times for Milan in Serie A this season and caught the eye in the Champions League. The 22-year-old has also been capped for France at Under-21 level.

His ability to play at both centre-back and right-back also offers Tottenham some versatility in their back four.

Conte is also looking to add a midfielder and an attacker to his squad next month, with Juventus’ Weston McKennie and James Maddison two possible targets.

Tottenham will resume their Premier League campaign on Boxing Day when they travel across the capital to play Brentford.
