Man United and Arsenal ‘send scouts to watch highly-rated Real Betis forward Luiz Henrique’

Man United and Arsenal ‘send scouts to watch Real Betis sensation Luiz Henrique’ as they battle for the highly-rated forward’s signature… but a move for the Brazilian star ‘looks unlikely in the January transfer window’

  • Luiz Henrique is thought to be of interest to Arsenal and Manchester United
  • The Brazilian forward has starred for current side Real Betis in recent weeks
  • The 22-year-old has three goals and five assists so far in 2022-23 in 22 games
  • The Gunners were beaten to Ukrainian starlet Mykhailo Mudryk’s signature

Luiz Henrique has been the subject of scouting missions from Premier League sides Manchester United and Arsenal after starring for Real Betis.

The Brazilian has starred for the Spanish side in recent weeks, especially against Athletic Bilbao and Barcelona, as well as scoring in Rayo Vallecano win as Betis sit sixth in LaLiga.

Los Verdiblancos lost on penalties in the semi-final of the Spanish Super Cup, the day after losing left-back Alex Moreno to Aston Villa as Unai Emery looks to reinforce his side.

And according to Spanish outlet Al Final De La Palmera, Henrique is set to be the subject of a bidding war between both United and Arsenal, although a deal is thought to be unlikely to materialise in January.

The Brazilian is thought to have drawn scouts from the Premier League on several occasions so far this season following an impressive introduction to elite European football.

Henrique made the well-trodden path from Brazil to LaLiga after Betis bought him from Fluminense in July 2022 for just £7.1million.

But Los Verdiblancos could be looking at a big profit on their investment, with the Premier League heavyweights set to fight it out for his services.

The Brazil Under-20 international has three goals and five assists so far in 22 appearances, with two of those assists coming against Barcelona earlier in January.

Although his side went on to lose in the shoot-out, Henrique was one of the best players on the pitch with one of his assists coming in the 101st minute of the cup tie for Loren Moron to equalise late on for Betis.

The 22-year-old’s current deal at the Benito Villamarin Stadium runs up until 2028, but he could be on the move earlier than expected as Arsenal are searching the market for forward recruits.

The Gunners were beaten to Mykhailo Mudryk’s signature by London rivals Chelsea, who splashed £88.6m on the Ukrainian star, who has put pen to paper on a eight-and-a-half year deal at Stamford Bridge.

Mikel Arteta’s side are also monitoring developments with Barcelona’s Raphinha, although the 26-year-old former Leeds star would appear to be keen to stay at the Nou Camp having only arrived in summer 2022.
