Sevilla interested in Chelsea’s Malang Sarr if he can cut short his loan spell at Monaco

Sevilla are interested in signing Malang Sarr from Chelsea as long as he can cut short his loan spell at Monaco – with the French defender making just FOUR Ligue 1 starts since joining in the summer

  • French defender Malang Sarr signed for Chelsea in 2020 but was sent on loan
  • After signing from Nice, he went to Porto on loan but now he’s playing at Monaco
  • It’s been a disappointing loan, with the defender starting four times in Ligue 1
  • Could now be destined for LaLiga as long as he can end his Monaco loan spell

The 23-year-old Frenchman joined Monaco on a loan until the end of the season last summer, but it has not gone as well as planned.

Sarr has only started four times for Monaco in Ligue 1, mustering just 351 minutes since making his move.

With just a further appearance in the Coupe de France and two more in the Europa League, Sarr could now be on his way out.

The young defender started out his career in Ligue 1, playing for his boyhood club Nice before his move to London.

After joining Chelsea under Frank Lampard in 2020, Sarr went straight out on loan to Porto.

He featured sparingly under Thomas Tuchel the following season before making his move to Monaco in the summer.

Sarr may now be destined for another of Europe’s top leagues, with Sevilla showing interest in the young defender.
