Chelsea have once again been linked with a signing from Ligue 1 with Lyon winger Malick Fofana the latest youngster in their sights.
Fofana, 20, has been the subject of discussions between Chelsea and the French club although no formal offer has been submitted, according to reports.
The latest interest comes after Chelsea were recently linked with Lorient midfielder Arthur Avom.
According to French outlet l’Équipe, Fofana is under contract until 2028 but a significant offer could tempt Lyon into cashing in.
Born in Belgium, the winger scored six times and provided 11 assists in 41 appearances last season across Ligue 1, the Europa League and the French Cup.
Fofana joined Lyon from Belgian side Gent for a fee of €19.5million (£16.6m) in January 2024.

Chelsea are interested in signing a right-footed winger in the summer window and made an offer of around £42m for Borussia Dortmund star Jamie Gittens.
The Bundesliga outfit rejected the bid but the Blues are expected to increase their offer.
Enzo Maresca’s side have already signed striker Liam Delap from Ipswich after triggering his £30m release clause.
The Blues are in action in the Club World Cup, taking on LAFC in their first game on Monday.
